N.S.A.C

(Northern Soul Against Cancer)

When Kevin Redman found out his brother Baz had prostate cancer he decided he wanted to do something to help his brother and other sufferers. It was close to his heart because their dad had also suffered from prostate cancer before he passed away......he decided on a soul night to raise funds so he contacted Kev Draper to see what could be done with the help of soul dj’s in the area and shortly afterwards a date was booked.

Kevin decided to explain what he was planning to Baz, who then designed a logo for a patch & pin and the amount of sales have been incredible around both the UK and world wide.

Kev Redman then set about getting support from local businesses and sporting clubs across the UK. A week before the event there was so much donated for the auction & raffle that Kev asked David Hayden to help organise them, and with lots of help from friends the night was a great success.  Kev decided due to the success of the badge, (over £4000 in pre booked orders and sales on the night of the gig) and the profit from the ticket sales, auction & raffle (also in excess of £4000) that there should be something set up to keep raising money to help cancer sufferers and their families, and so Northern Soul Against Cancer was born.

This website was one of the first steps taken. We hope to bring you at least one soul gig a year, plus help promote other charity events around the UK.

The NSAC Team consists of Kev Redman (Chairman) Baz Redman & David Hayden (Treasurer), Dave Wagstaff & Helen Nesbit. Team Member photos will be posted on here shortly so you know who to deal with on NSAC business. No one else has authority to use our name or negotiate on our behalf so please enure you deal with the team members above so there are no misunderstandings.

We have Steph Dennis, Bridget Hares and Alan Nesbit selling badges, pins and event tickets as well as helping things run smoothly at local events.  Additionally, we have Pam Elliott who is selling badges and  pins in the Midlands and Yorkshire area for us.  We also have Wendy O’Neil our website adminstrator.

It is hoped that anyone interested in supporting this cause, with fund raising, or donations or to volunteer to help at events, would join up here on this web site; where we would hope to keep you all informed of future activities. If you wish to get involved or help with fund raising then get in touch with us via our "Contact" page
